So I made it!
The lab woke me up this morning at 6 am to do my glucose test. Well I failed :(. I am not happy about that. I was at 148 and the range is to 140 so I just missed it. So, I am going to take the 3 hour test tomorrow and pray I pass. I am not looking forward to another yucky drink and 4 needles but hey anything to rule this out. My Dr. offered to just treat me for GD but I rather not treat it if I don't need to.
I had a little unwelcomed excitement this past week on the monitor. Baby A is a tiny trouble maker. She had some accelerations that had me concerned but it turns out I didn't need to be. Then yesterday she had a few decels that the Dr. didn't like. So they kept me on the monitor a little longer and it did not reoccur. Thank God. So she has my anxiety level up but right now all is well.
I had my ultrasound today and that too went well. However, I am a little nervous about that baby A. She has always been smaller than her sister (who is small as it is) but today she seems to be about 7 oz behind baby B and I don't like that. The Dr. however is fine with it and I know that means I should be too. Baby A is measuring in at 1lb 15oz and B is measuring 2lb 6 oz! Baby B jumped up almost a pound! A did some growing too and that is what the Dr. liked to see. It's just that B seems to be an over achiever and maybe not making her sister look good! :) Over all though blood flow looks good to both of them and no obvious cord entanglement.
Thank you all for your love and prayers! They mean the world to us!

Hospital life
I'm a duck AND a dinosaur!
Here is Lyla wearing latex gloves on her feet (thanks Carla) and pretending to be a chicken (and later a dinosaur) :).
Facts about Mono Mono Twins
*Monoamniotic twins are always identical
*Monoamniotic twins are the result of a late splitting egg; one that split around 8-12 days after fertilization
*Monoamniotic twins only occur in 1% of twins
*Monoamniotic twins share a placenta and amniotic sac which means they have skin to skin contact
*Monoamniotic twins are considered extremely high risk because of the risk of cord compression leading to fetal death as a result of umbilical cord entanglement
*Monoamniotic twins are always delivered by C-Section
*Monoamniotic twins are usually delivered between 32-34 weeks gestation because the risks of staying in utero are greater than the risks associated with a premature birth
*75% of monoamniotic twins are girls
*inpatient monitoring at viability yeilds the greatest success rates
Love and blessing to all!

I had a tough day yesterday. My late night monitoring did not go as planned. We couldn't keep baby B on the monitor and after an hour of trying we needed to call in ultrasound to locate them. I know, I have already heard this "where could she have gone?" :) haha well if the babies aren't facing in a good direction to pick up a heart beat we sometimes can't locate it. Sometimes one heartbeat is coming in so loudly you can't hear the other one. Even after ultrasound came in and showed us exactly where the heartbeats were we STILL couldn't pick them both up! Naughty babies!! Eventually we found them and I had to uncomfortably hold the monitor in place for a half hour to get the tracing. That was after midnight so I got to bed late. Up again at 6 for my morning monitoring and history repeated itself. Long story short by 9am another nurse came in and found them in 2 minutes! I was so frustrated but relieved to hear 2 hearts beating.
Fun news: I heard and felt a baby hiccup for the first time this week! I heard it on the monitor (sounded like a loud drum beating every few seconds) and I felt it too! I love it!!
Our ultrasound yesterday went very well. All blood flow looks good and no signs of any problems (knock on wood!) :)
I also got to see a baby yawn on the ultrasound!!! It was the most awesome sight! We focused in on baby A's face and the next thing we knew she had her mouth wide open! Yawning and stretching her head!! She then began to drink the amniotic fluid :) I could just squeeze her! Just as my heart was melting baby B's butt popped right in front of baby A's face! lol
I found this on another momo mom's blog (htttp://monoamnioticstories.blogspot.com/) and thought I would post it too.

26 weeks!
Well here I am 26 weeks! Well my Dr.'s have me as being 26 weeks but I think they are 2 days off. :) I will side with them since they have me further along!
I chose this picture because I am not looking at the camera. I look terrible in the other pics. (no makeup hair is a mess). I guess that is ok since I AM in the hospital. Just doesn't make for the best of pictures :). A few nurses, my Dr. and even the room service lady told me I don't even look like a patient. Since I am not on "bedrest" I can wear whatever I want. If I am not on the monitor I will many times be sitting at a table or even outside int he courtyard. If I didn't have a gps (yes, it is a tracking bracelet) wrapped around my wrist I could easily pass for a "layman" haha :).
Here is Bryan posing with his non baby belly :) His idea, not mine!
So I had my ultradound today. It went well! The babies are still looking good. They checked their growth. Baby A who was 15 oz 2 weeks ago is measuring 1lb 6oz. Baby B who measured 1lb 2 oz 2 weeks ago now measures 1lb 8oz! Now they did tell us there is a margin of error but as is all looks good. They are still small but they are measuring well in relation to eachother (one is not much larger than the other) which is great!
We are upping to my monitoring to 4 times a day which makes for less sleep and I know my nurses are excited (not!). This is why I am here though so whatever we have to do we'll do!
Bryan and I are so grateful for all the emotional support we have received throughout this experience. You all have been so wonderful and could not be more grateful! Thank you for all your prayers and positive thoughts!
Next milestone...28 weeks...here we come....

1 week down 8+ to go...
My first week inpatient has passed. I am not sure if I feel like I have accomplished anything. I wasn't planning on being admitted for another week from now so I still feel behind. I am so eager to get to a point where I feel like I have hit a milestone.
I go on the monitor 3 times a day and I get an ultrasound 2 times a week. I see my OB everyday and the resident everyday. I definately feel that we are getting good care.
I had another ultrasound yesterday. The anxiety before each ultrasound is so high. I fear that at any moment they will tell me we have to deliver. The ultrasound looked good. Blood flow to each baby was good and there was no obvious cord entanglement. I am so confused on the cord entanglement. It seems like with each ultrasound we hear something different. One ultrasound they look entangled the next they don't??? I imagine their cords will be entangled. Our Dr. tells us that is pretty much inevitable. I just never know what the virduct for the day is going to be. We go for a growth scan on Friday to see if they are growing ok. That terrifies me! I am so scared that the babies aren't growing right. Baby A has a 2 vessel cord (should have a 3 vessel cord) and was measuring smaller than B last growth check. I just pray that between the 2 vessel cord and possible cord entanglement that baby A will grow grow grow. It's funny because I feel more movement from her than her sister "B".
I thought that being in the hospital would relieve me of stress. I am not sure if it has or if it has just been a slow release. I still worry every minute of the day and now I worry about how Lyla is doing at home. I think when I get further along and I feel like it is safer to deliver them I will feel better.
I'll be 26 weeks on Friday which will be my first mini milestone I guess.
Will keep updating.
